What are two character domain names worth?

8l.com sold through online auction site, Sedo, for USD$14,000. Sedo also recently sold 9l.com for USD$10,099. Both 8l.com and 9l.com do not contain websites, as of yet.

Two letter domain names are rare and nearly all are currently registered; they are valuable because they are short and easy to remember.

Most two character domain names attract strong interest and high bidding prices; On.com sold for USD$635,000 whilst Vb.com sold for USD$200,000. Two number domain names also sell well; 70.com sold for USD $87,000 and 63.com sold for USD $75,000.

Two character, same letter domains also, due to rarity, sell well, with Ll.com selling at auction for, USD$500,000.

Although, it is commonly suggested to not include the letter ‘Z’ when registering a domain name, shorter domains including letters such as this, can often be quite valuable. For example, Az.com sold for $500,000 in a domain auction.
