The ICANN Board approved a modification to the Implementation Rules for the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (“Rules”). The modified Rules now require UDRP claimants and respondents to provide documents to UDRP Providers in electronic form. The modified Rules also change UDRP Provider obligations in forwarding hard copy notice to respondents in UDRP proceedings: the original Rules required Providers to forward a hard copy of the UDRP complaint; under the new Rules, Providers do not have to forward a hard copy of the entire complaint. Providers are now only required to forward a hard copy notice that a UDRP complaint has been filed.
The modified Rules will become mandatory for all UDRP proceedings filed on or after 1 March 2010.
Domain Name System (DNS)
When you spend time on the Internet, whether you are browsing or sending emails, you are using the hidden Domain Name System (DNS). The DNS is a unique naming system, which works like a database that is used for computer systems, services and other resources that are connected with the Internet. The DNS system translates domain names, which can easily be remembered by humans, to a numerical identity, that can be used by computers.
Every time you use a domain name you are accessing the Internet’s domain name server. DNS is often associated with a phone book; a human remembers the name and the phone book, similar to the DNS, provides the number or Internet Protocol (IP) address. For example www.trellian.com translates to 216.240.187.4.

Above.com Parking Manager Servicing Over 1 Million Domains
The Above.com Domain Parking Manager has reached and surpassed a major milestone this November. Optimizing and reporting on over 1 million parked domains. 1.2 million domains to be exact.
These domains are parked via 15 different Parking Companies and for good reason. Each domain parking service has strengths and weaknesses. Some are Google based and some are Yahoo based, some do better on US traffic, some do better on International traffic, some do better on adult or gaming domains others do better on travel or finance domains.
Are Trademark Typo Domains a good idea ?
With the amount of traffic that is generated everyday from people missepelling common brands, it may be tempting to register lots of domains containing words such as startbucks, macdonad or micosoft.
While this strategy used to prove successful when domain names first became popular back in the 1990s, this is now a very dangerous business.
