Recently sold at auction were five generic .asia domains, which did not sell for substantial amounts, considering what they would if they were domains of another TLD or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.above.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/top-level-domain.html\">ccTLD<\/a> (like .com or .fr).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nAccording to HosterStats.com, the .asia TLD has almost 216 thousand domains registered. The fact that Asia is a region, rather than a country may account for the low resale prices. Similarly, .eu (for Europe) hasn&#8217;t taken off either, in terms of resale prices. But .eu has <br \/>about 3 million domains registered.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the .asia domains that recently sold at Sedo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.above.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/domain-auctions.html\">auctions<\/a>:<br \/>RealEstate.asia $6,000<br \/>Credit.asia $4,250<br \/>Wireless.asia $1,750<br \/>Single.asia $770<br \/>MP3.asia $655<\/p>\n<p>As a comparison, here are some of the amounts other TLD&#8217;s collected:<br \/>RealEstate.net $300,000<br \/>RealEstate.mobi $85,000 (Mobile)<br \/>RealEstate.pk $9,000 (Pakistan)<br \/>RealEstate.at $1,497 (Austria)<\/p>\n<p>Credit.fr $850,000 (France)<br \/>Credit.info $36,000<br \/>Credit.mobi $10,600 (Mobile)<\/p>\n<p>Single.es $43,337 (Spain)<br \/>Single.by $296 (Belarus)<\/p>\n<p>Wireless.io $250 (British Indian Ocean Territory)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People who have invested in the regional TLD, .asia will be disappointed to know that their domains probably aren&#8217;t worth much.
